Z-565, codenamed "Skelepede" is a hostile monster in Pressure. It is found in the first half of the Raveyard Catacombs and acts as one of the two secondary antagonist (alongside Candlebearers) of The Raveyard Expedition.

Appearance[]

The Skelepede appears to be long line of ribs leading up to a skull, the ribs being used to move around and incredibly long compared to any living thing. There are multiple candles on its back, along with in its eye sockets acting as pupils and on the top of its skull.

Mechanics[]

The Skelepede spawns usually in front of a door during the Dungeon. It proceeds to crawl towards the player, being intended to move slightly faster than the player (unfortunately, or fortunately for the player, due to bugs the Skelepede is actually slightly SLOWER than the player). On occasion, it will charge in a straight line accompanied by a sound similar to concrete scraping. Fortunately, the Skelepedes are unable to turn quickly, allowing you to easily avoid it simply by moving left to right. Touching the Skelepede's head at any point results in you taking 30 damage. You can counter the charge-in by walking a bit to the side whenever it rushes at you, as it usually cannot turn during it. The Skelepede usually doesn't despawn, but seems to only spawn once per room. You can also despawn it by getting out of the water, upon which it will sink back into the water. Sometimes, for unexplainable reasons, if you enter the room and leave it, running far away, the Skelepede might go back in the water and not come back until the next room (indicated by the sinking sound).

- The Skelepede is slow at turning, giving you an advantage at juking it.

- The Skelepede was intended to be slightly faster than you, however due to bugs within the code, this is not the case. Your best method of escaping is to just drop it and run. You could also try walking diagonally left and right, making it slower as of it's slow turning.

- The Skelepede's tail can not damage you, you can abuse this along with how slow it turns, making hiding behind it a viable option.

- The Skelepede (along with the Bouncer) are client-sided, meaning other players do not see the monster that you're up against. You'll just be chased by nothing on their screen during spectating.

- The Skelepede will stop chasing you if you are not in the water (this can be seen while entering Club Spectrum). However if you're close enough to it whilst it hasn't fled yet, it can still damage you, so make sure you're far away enough when not in water.

Overseer Comments[]

"After the EXR-P was forced to take a detour through a crypt, what sounded like the EXR-P being pulled underwater was heard, and their provided walkie shortly after expired. It is assumed that they were followed by Z-564 into the crypt, and were beaten to death, though it could be something else. Once the rave has been shut down, the crypt will be examined."

Trivia[]

  • The Skelepede having red candles on it is likely a reference to a common Halloween decoration, which is a skull with a red candle on it.
  • One of the only entities in the Raveyard that aren't seen amassing in large numbers. (Bouncers can have multiple chasing you, several Candlebearers can also follow players at once)
  • There's a bug where once the Skelepede emerges from the water and you're close enough to it but on high-grounds, it will rarely start floating and chase you.
  • There is another bug in which the Skelepede goes into the platform, and cannot descend into the water, nor can it move.
  • Yet another bug, if you stand close to the wall and the Skelepede bites you, then there is a chance that you will fall out of the map, but Mr. Lopee will grab you and teleport you to the beginning of the room.
