Sebastian's Shop is a room type that appears at the mid-section of the game. It serves as a safe zone for players as Monsters cannot reach inside and is Sebastian Solace's hideout within the Hadal Blacksite.

Overview

Sebastian's Shop spawns at around Door 47 to 52, always in a locked room. When a player steps in the room, Sebastian will pop open the vent and call the player over. Inside the shop, the player(s) can exchange research for various items to help them along the way. Kroner, which can be used to buy items at the Pre-Run Shop before receiving them upon arrival via Dead Drop, cannot be used in this shop. Only research can be used to buy items at Sebastian’s Shop.

Items

In Sebastian’s Shop, various items are available for the players to purchase. Here is a list of what players can buy:

Trivia

  • If the player exits the shop, Sebastian will recite a random voiceline.
    • If the player leaves without the keycard, he will also inform them of such.
    • If a player is a ghost, he will not have any voicelines for them as of December 15th, 2024, but he will still look at them client-side.
  • If the player goes in and out of the shop many times, this will anger Sebastian, causing him to yell "GET OUT!" or another one of his various annoyed voice lines.
    • Unlike flashing him with a Flash Beacon, this will not get the player killed.
  • If the player uses the Flash Beacon on Sebastian, he will proceed to grab them, break the Flash Beacon, warn them not to do it again and throw them onto the ground, dealing 50 damage.
    • Flashing Sebastian again will make him pull out a sawed off triple-barrel shotgun, and shoot the player, instantly killing them. Sebastian will then say “I warned you…” This awards the "You Deserve This" badge.
      • Avoiding the shot is impossible; even if the player is in the vent, behind Sebastian, or in another blocked-off position, Sebastian will still shoot the player.
    • After flashing Sebastian, his anger won't go away upon leaving, buying items, or otherwise interacting with him. He’ll groan every time a player buys items, leaves, or reenters his shop, which means he’ll shoot if flashed again.
  • Before August 9th, 2024, a plush of Apostle could be found in the corner. The reason of removal is currently unknown.
  • The player can eat Dweller Chunk in front of him and get imaginary, invisible "disgusting" title.
  • After the Four point Five update, if you enter Sebastian's shop while having the Imaginary Friend active, Sebastian will, in a way interact with them, asking them to stop whispering while the player is inside the shop.
  • If listening to the radio inside of the shop and listening for morse code, it is possible to make out the phrase " --. --- / .--. .-.. .- -.-- / -.. --- --- .-. ... / .-.. --- ... . .-. " (with slashes being long pauses). Decoded, this phrase translates to "GO PLAY DOORS LOSER".
    • If the player interacts with the radio, the subtitle “Garbage noise.” or “It’s just garbage noise.” will appear on the player’s screen. This may be a reference to the Garbage Noise sound from UNDERTALE.
  • Sebastian’s shop can spawn during the rare ‘DOORS’ segment (accessed only via an elevator with a small chance of appearing). This re-skins the shop to look like Jeff's Shop from DOORS.
  • Seek's eyes from DOORS can be spotted in the background of the shop behind the gated area sometimes as an easter egg.
  • A glitch allowing players to climb on Sebastian's body was patched, with him throwing players across the room if they attempt to do so.
    • Before this update, Sebastian would instead gently push the player away.
    • Sebastian is able to throw players out of bounds by doing this. Their death cause will be Environmental Hazards if Mr. Lopee doesn’t save them.
    • According to most recordings of people dying to Sebastian by getting thrown, a lot died with their Items and some can spectate themselves. This glitch may be patched soon.
    • If a player is a ghost and goes onto Sebastian, he will not react.
  • Sebastian will keep attempting to get the player into his shop if they go towards the next door instead.
  • If a player chooses to go back to Sebastian’s shop once passing through the next few doors, his shop will be locked and inaccessible for the remainder of the run.
Plush Sebastian Event

Sebastian, after being turned into a marketable plushie.

  • There is a very small chance that Sebastian will be replaced by a large PNG of his plush. During this event, the vent opening animation will not play, no voice lines will be said, no items will be sold, and nothing in the shop can be interacted with. This “fake” shop can appear multiple times during a playthrough.
  • Buying every item Sebastian has will NOT give the player the chance to climb on him. As stated above, this glitch has been patched.
  • Sebastian’s tail wags every time the player buys something from him. Some other interactions he has after a player bought something is chuckling or rubbing his hands and giving a thumbs up.
  • Sebastian may or may not become happy if you buy something from him after angering him.er.
  • Sebastian recites a random voiceline whenever an Angler variant or Pandemonium passes through the shop.
  • If a player lead a Wall Dweller into Sebastian’s Shop, he will shoot the Wall Dweller.
